This star-studded list gives a great preview for the end of the season awards; however, some big names in college football are missing.  Clemson’s Sammy Watkins was chosen as a WR for the Sports Illustrated Pre-Season All American list. Watkins became only the third true freshman to make the AP first team All-American list after last year.  The likely candidate for Watkins’ exclusion from the ESPN list would be a potential pending drug suspension.

Another well-known name to miss the list is South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney.  As a freshman, Clowney registered 8 sacks and became a feared pass rusher in the ultra competitive SEC.  Clowney became pretty comfortable in the backfield of the opposing team throughout his rookie campaign.  With his freakish athletic ability, the sky is the limit for Clowney.

These are just a few notable players excluded from the list; however, there are always dark horses candidates who have huge years.  It will be interesting to see who emerges as the season continues.  These particular players are the cream of the crop in college football.  Keep an eye on all the action to see the spectacular feats they manage to accomplish every weekend.

Whats Your Verdict?
