After an absolute destruction of the league leader in wins, the Detroit Tigers are moving on to the 2012 World Series.  Detroit will wait for the conclusion of the NLCS between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants.  The Tigers will have some time to rest after sweeping the New York Yankees in four straight games.

Tigers fans have waited since 2006 to get another chance at becoming the World Series Champions.  After landing mega-star Prince Fielder, fans in Detroit had high expectations for their Tigers.  The extra bat gave Miguel Cabrera protection in the middle of the lineup.  With a great rotation led by Justin Verlander, the Tigers were one of the favorites to contend for the title.  The season was a bit rocky for awhile, but the Tigers pulled it together down the stretch.  After topping the White Sox to win the division, Detroit rolled over Oakland in the ALDS.  This set up a series against New York; however, it turned out to be no match at all.
